What a Way to Spend New Year's Eve...

Living in digital world these days would be more meaningful if you can create such movement
From creating apps to make one's life better like KitaBisa.com (go check the link to find that a LOT of people are indeed in need of some help). So I would like to shout out to some people out there who refuse the waves of digital world. Seriously, you can start doing something that would matter the world to other people. Why is that so hard to understand?

Don't focus on the negativity it would bring. There is always 2 sides of EVERYTHING. What matter the most is how you react to it.

So, enough the preamble. Last night was quite fun and different from any other new year's eves. I have been recruited to Creative Division of Bebas Sampah Movement. I volunteer myself as a graphic designer. It's been ages! Whoa!

And last night, the Media and Public Figure divisions also volunteered to clean the New Year's Eve venue. We brought a giant plastic bag and threw any inorganic litter inside. It was just a sudden idea that came to one of our member team. Since it was abruptly coming out of her head, so there was only four of us, representing each division. It was a lot of fun, indeed. The venue was around Summarecon Mall, Serpong, Tangerang, which held a DJ and fireworks party.

Hashtag #LessWasteParty, we also empty out our lungs to the crowd celebrating New Year's eve on the street. 'Bring your own litter, don't clutter the road!' Thankfully, since they saw us bending our bodies down, taking each one of plastic bag, snack packaging, and plastic bottle, they kind of sad maybe lol and they started taking their own litters and threw it inside the giant plastic bag that we brought over.

But there was TOO many trash around the venue and we couldn't help ourselves to keep piling it up, until the plastic bag is the same size of Hana chan's height! And it seemed like we couldn't do it all. It's kind of sad at the same time, to see those litters on the street. Just scary to even think about it...

The message that we learn from last night, we need to make it habitual, like annually embark on the street and cleaning up the trash. YOSH! It's just a pilot movement. We can still do it next year! Next time, it should be national movement!
