Learn how to paint your floors for your bedroom from this article.

We know that if traditional flooring options like wood, tile or carpet are beyond your budget or don't suit your taste, you may want to consider a painted floor. This time, we will discuss about how to paint your floors for your bedroom in the easiest ways, like ever! By painting the floor, it can be a bold way to add visual interest to your bedroom and personalize your space. It will also allow you to better coordinate your flooring with your room's color and design scheme.

You need to prepare some tools, such as primer, paint, paint roller, water-based polyurethane, painter’s tape, sander/sandpaper, leveling compound, and wood fillers.

First, you need to remove all furniture from the room, as well as all items you might need during the painting and drying process, which can be more than a week.

Second, you can then remove all baseboards from your bedroom walls, and then store them to be replaced once your bedroom floor has dried. But if you think it is not possible, you can apply painters tape along the edges of your baseboards to keep paint off them instead.

Third, you could then apply primer to your floor using a long-handled roller. And you should start in the corner furthest from the access door. You should work your way out toward the door until you have covered the entire floor. You should avoid walking or rolling over your progress by working backward out of the room. Then you can allow the primer to dry for at least 24 hours.

Fourth, you can immediately paint your bedroom floor in your desired color, using the same painting process as with your primer. You should apply a second or even third coat if necessary, allowing for drying between coats. Then you can allow the final coat to dry for 72 hours.

Last, you can start applying a coat or two of a water-based sealant like polyurethane. This way will add a slight gloss to your paint and also protect your painted bedroom floor. You can then allow it to dry fully before putting your furniture back in your bedroom.
