DIY Closet Organizer Plans

Find some useful DIY closet organizer plans from this article.

It is inevitable to have an exceptionally messy closet and you also have no idea how to go about getting things in order so that it can be functional again. But it is still a problem when you pull everything out all at once. It might not be the best idea or the most effective tactic. You can then firstly come up with a closet organizer plan. After that, you can decide what you want to do with the space, figure out what you want to keep in it, and then gather the supplies you need to get the closet in order. Here are some DIY closet organizer plans that you can try.

First, you should take inventory of everything you have in the closet, or what you think you have in it. While you do so, you can also start coming up with categories like sweaters, boots, sandals, jackets, shorts, linens, belts, ties and hats.

Second, you can then gather the hangers you need for the various types of clothes you plan to hang in the closet. You can also include standard clothes hangers, felt-lined clamp hangers and sloped hangers.

Third, you can then purchase plastic storage bins with drawers to store items like sweaters, socks and ties. You should know that sweaters should never be hung, because it can damage the material. As for the ties, they should be rolled up lengthwise and tucked neatly into the drawer.

Fourth, you should get a shoe rack. It can be used for all sizes and types of shoes. It also keeps them off the floor of your closet and helps maintain your shoes so you can wear them longer.

Fifth, you should toss some items out of your closet. Plastic storage containers can be used to organize clothing accessories, and you can also stack linens and towels on the top shelf. Nevertheless, things you don't use on a daily basis, like yearbooks, boxes of photos, old magazines or clothes you'd like to fit into someday are probably better off in the attic than your closet.
