Punk Subculture and Magical Things

Been compiling an essay about Punk Subculture as part of Cultural Studies analysis. And I'm using one of... no, I think this song is the most phenomenal a man ever composed it. God Save the Queen is the chosen song. It is indeed, one of songs used by my oldie' brother in his thesis. But I see it from different point of view. Sex Pistols is like the forerunner band, which overcame a lot of difficulties in promoting their album. Their album is filled with satirical lyrics, which is why, especially this song, a lot of radio stations refused to air it, although the numerous copies of it had been sold.

Subculture itself is quite interesting to learn. It always depends how the bigger dominant culture treats others from different class. With the class system/race theories found by Darwin and Marx, (well, who doesn't know them?) Britain, especially London also had class system. Upper, middle and working classes. And this punk subculture is actually youth subculture whose young gunners spent their leisure time, talking about nihilism, some ideologies, and inequalities that they faced everyday. But I think it is normal. When a storm hit a country in economy sector, the class system can be seen easily. The richer focuses on their belongings, while the poorer only knows about surviving. So I can conclude, these young working class people in London experienced 'zero state' where they really didn't have anything to do and to rely their hope on to. And I always believe we will be MORE comfortable to be around people who SHARE the same struggles. And this is the reason of these young guys gang up to dominate some territories. That is the only thing they can do, so they can find another 'place' that will accept them as they are. So that is the process of the forming process of a subculture, at least that was my opinion from days I spent reading about a lot of sources about it.

And the connection with magical things? I've been listening to original soundtracks from Disney (to get in the mood, so I can finish the thesis real soon). This playlist is just great! DO listen, please! Wondering about living in Narnia? A playlist filled with magical soundtracks of Hobbits, Narnia, How to Train Your Dragon, etc.

Procrastinating at its best!
