10 Word Poems

Through this article, I will share 10 word poems that might entertain your life. Firstly, I have told you about one of my hobbies which I really love to do when it rains; writing poems. So, I have made this twitter account, with the username @10WordPoem. Actually I was influenced by some classic poets, like Robert Browning, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Emily Dickinson, Emily Bronte and especially, John Keats. I love all of John's works. This is sad when I know he died in young age. What a loss for literature world, don't you think?

So this twitter account shares 10 word poems written by me. So far, it has already reached to 81 tweets. It is still nothing compared to any other poetic twitter accounts out there. But I always do my best. As I'm writing this post, I remind myself to always update it with new stuff in 2 lines, 1 stanza and 10 words. That would be easy (you don't say). It is not good to finally have the intention to do what we have got to do when you forgot about it like months away. That is just pathetic (side of me). I easily forget stuff.

I challenge myself, and you too, of course, to write poems in limited words, just like some I'll show you below. Simply, I just want to measure my knowledge and my capability. There is no evaluation as learning by nature and autodidact-ly don't rely upon judgement from experts. Consider this as practice, to sharpening your writing skills, especially to those who are not native speakers in English (like me). Writing 10 word poems day by day surely will help you in the end.

Here they are;

I am an ocean deep;
you are the foamy waves

When it's rain here and there;
we'll eventually fall together

You are every emotion you endure;
buried in untamed places

Are you my detour,
my shifting road, my dead-end street?

In the stillness of every night,
you're flooding my thoughts
